Known as the fly fishing capital of Montana, Ennis sits on the banks of the bountiful Madison River, one of the top trout fishing rivers in the state, if not the country. The river has its headwaters inside Yellowstone National Park, 70 miles away. Flowing through Ennis, and the grand Madison Valley, the Madison River is surrounded by towering peaks that span three mountain ranges and the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, the largest national forest in Montana, covering 3.32 million acres. In these acres are countless back country roads, trails, campgrounds, abandoned gold mines, creeks, lakes, ponds and animals, including moose, elk, deer, antelope, bear, bald eagle, owl, hawk, falcon, osprey, beaver, otter and more. Oh yes, and millions of trout! Ennis is being developed by the likes of local developers Joe Vujovich and Lee Poole, who developed Moonlight Basin Resort, with its headquarters a mile north of Ennis. Joe and Lee also developed Pintail Ridge, the upscale subdivision where Pintail Ridge Lot 27 sits on a bench overlooking the valley below. People like Joe and Lee can be expected to continue leading smart and upscale development in the Madison Valley for years to come. Maybe in 10 years they'll call Ennis "Jackson Hole West." Getting to Ennis is easy, since the town is less than an hour's drive from Bozeman, the largest and fastest growing city in southwestern Montana, and recently named Editor's Choice for Best Place to Retire by U.S. News & World Report. So come check us out and feel for yourself the inspiration that comes from experiencing Big Sky Country first hand. Don't forget to bring your fly rod, camera, camping gear and all the other outdoor equipment you've got stashed away! PS: It's a good idea to check out the local real estate market before you arrive, just in case you fall in love with Ennis. Check out our Real Estate page here or our Pintail Ridge page here.
